Technology Insight

SafeSpace uses a variety of technologies to create a secure virtual environment, designed to isolate internet applications and contain all unexpected or infectious behaviour. It offers complete protection against known and unknown web based malware attacks, without the need for signature updates or rules – a level of security which cannot be achieved by traditional antivirus or antispyware technologies.

System Virtualization

SafeSpace protects the files and registry settings of the operating system by virtualizing any changes made by applications running inside. This means that applications can read the real data of Windows, and any programs which are installed. However, when they attempt to make any changes to that data a virtual ‘copy’ is created inside SafeSpace and the changes are made to the virtual data instead, preventing any changes from affecting the real data.

The applications inside SafeSpace then see the real data of the operating system, with the virtual modifications over the top. When you next log off, or purge SafeSpace, these virtual modifications are deleted, giving the applications in the next SafeSpace session a clean view of the operating system. SafeSpace prevents all changes to your computer by known and unknown internet malware threats.
